Three Ways to Nail Music Festival Style This Summer

Three Ways to Nail Music Festival Style This Summer

Now that Summer is officially upon us, so is music festival season. From Coachella to Burning Man and everything in between, here are three ways to put your most stylish foot forward (most likely wearing Vans) at your favorite outdoor festival.

1.The Soft Printed Shirt

Nothing says Summer style, like a floral print in a light-weight fabric. Pair it with a distressed denim, and a bandana around your ankle or knees for some fun flair!

2.  The Statement Tee

Take a stance with a bold statement tee. Wear it with denim cut-offs–a quintessential summer staple–and balance the look with whimsical accessories.

3. The Romper

Yep, it’s still a thing! Change up the look and wear your favorite acts tee underneath. Add some layered necklaces and a comfy pair of Vans for some rock and roll edge.

NYFWM: Grungy Gentleman Fall/Winter 2017

NYFWM: Grungy Gentleman Fall/Winter 2017

Jace Lipstein gave new meaning to the phrase, “game on” when he debuted four collections at once for his Grungy Gentleman line during New York Fashion Week: Men’s . Aside from the labels Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Lipstein introduced three of his latest sports-related collabs with the New York Knicks, the Rangers and Indiana University. Fans of the brand know that Lipstein is no stranger to partnerships having had successful ones with sports apparel giant, Mitchell and Ness, Hstry (rapper Nas’s clothing line) and mega boot brand, Timberland. The looks on hand for his latest show incorporated the brands signature six-stripe motif on the sleeves of logo’d team tees, and along the bottoms of trousers, blazers and outerwear. The collections mingled together beautifully and were a study on the guy who loves a good game but brings a bit of style to the stands.

Take a look at some images from the show below:

MTV’s Video Music Awards: A Recap

MTV’s Video Music Awards: A Recap

The MTV Video Music Awards this past weekend was a veritable night of highs and lows. There was the creative use of 8th avenue just behind Madison Square Garden for performances during the pre-show, (high) the awkward and yawn-inspiring interviewing styles of the red carpet correspondents, (low) the fifteen minute Beyonce concert that happened half way through the night (high) and the unfortunate performance line-up that placed Britney Spears after it. (low)

Perhaps one of the biggest highs of the night though, besides Beyonce of course, was the premiere of Kanye West’s new video, “Fade.” Although we could have done without the expected 4 turned 7 minute rant about..well, not sure what it was about..BUT, the video instantly put its star, Teyana Taylor on everyone’s radar. The clip involves a greased up Taylor dancing alone in a workout room setting in a strategically cut sports bra and underwear. It has been compared to the iconic final dance sequence in “Flash Dance” and is also reminiscent of Janet Jackson’s, “Pleasure Principle.” Fade takes the same formula of a strong female lead alone with her moves and her thoughts and dancing through them and brings it into 2016. The dance- hall- meets- hip-hop -choreography, and a quick nod to gay voguing culture at one point makes it feel very relevant and very now. Kanye is one of the most polarizing figures in pop culture today, but few people will argue about his creativity and ability to make you look.

All in all the VMA’s were pretty entertaining. Viewers got to see a portion of Beyonce’s Formation World Tour for free, sing along to some of Rihanna’s biggest hits throughout her four performances, and get motivated to join a gym after seeing Teyana Taylor’s body.

Apparently, they gave out some awards too.

The video for “Fade” can be seen exclusively on Tidal
